The President of The International Franchise Association has some pretty darn positive things to say about how well the franchise industry has weathered the economy, in the past. He talks about those great 2001-2005 Franchise growth charts. Matthew Shay is supposed to say positive things about franchising, no matter what is happening. If I was the President of The IFA, I would probably do the same thing. Or, would I?

Franchise Cereal. Was $3.00 A Bowl A Little Much?

                                                   

Last year, I received a couple of phone calls concerning a young franchise called "Cereality." I put forth my serious consulting voice and suggested rather strongly to these fine folks that called my office, "Are you really going to take a food franchise that sells Cocoa Puffs for $3.00 a bowl, seriously?" I mean I am a pretty skeptical guy to begin with, so let's knock 20% off of my opinions on any new franchise...but CMON!!! {One little detail that I don't want to forget to mention. The investment amount is OVER $200,000 for one of these cafe's.} Quite the bargain.

My friend, and marketing buddy, Sean Kelly, is reporting that one of Cereality's franchises recently closed. Sean is really sad. Read his breaking franchise news, here.

As we head towards the July 4th holiday weekend, I thought that it would be a nice time to reach out to you, for some suggestions. First of all, I hope you feel that I am doing a good job with The Franchise King Blog. But, could I be doing better?

I recently learned about a Canadian software development company that just introduced an interesting Franchise News alternative for marketers, bloggers, and franchisors.
