Former Ford Motor Co. Employee Opens New Franchise!

Every time it rains, I want you to think about Gerald Krause. Gerald, a former Ford Motor Company employee, just opened up a franchise of his own....

Gerald retired from Ford last year, and attended a seminar on franchising that I gave at a local outplacement office. Gerald was joined by five other various middle mangagement and executive folks, who were recently downsized, or took an early retirement. Their former companies provided corporate outplacement services including resume preparation, interviewing skill building, and other career related  activities. Part of what these folks can choose to do is explore non-traditional career moves, like small business/franchise ownership.

Gerald shared with the group that he had always wanted to try his hand at business ownership, and that the timing seemed right. We talked about a week after the seminar, and after filling out a brief questionnaire that I designed {which helps me get an idea of my candidate's skill sets, personality traits, and investment comfort level},

Gerald and his lovely wife, Margie, scheduled an in-person meeting at my Chagrin Blvd. office.
                                                
We got to know each other pretty well, and I presented a couple of franchise concepts to the Krause's.
